CAR-TOOL CYCLONE RANGE – WHICH TOOL IS RIGHT FOR YOUR DETAIL?
The CAR-Tool Cyclone range is designed to make interior detailing faster by using compressed air in a powerful cyclonic motion.
But which one should you choose?
The easiest way to understand the three tools is:
CYCLONE BLOW OUT GUN → BLOW DIRT OUT
CYCLONE VACUUM ADAPTOR → BLOW + VACUUM DIRT AT THE SAME TIME
CYCLONE LIQUID AIR CLEANING TOOL → APPLY CLEANER + AGITATE WITH AIR
They may look similar, but each has a very different job.
CYCLONE TURBO PROFESSIONAL BLOW OUT GUN – DRY AIR CLEANING
The Cyclone Turbo Professional Blow Out Gun is all about using compressed air to get dirt, dust, sand and debris out of places your vacuum struggles to reach.
Instead of a normal straight blast of compressed air, the Cyclone creates a powerful tornado-like rotating airflow inside the cone. This covers a larger area and helps disturb dirt trapped deep within carpets, fabrics, seams and tight areas.
It's particularly useful before vacuuming.
Use the Cyclone to blow embedded dirt out of the carpet or from underneath seats, then vacuum up the dirt once it's been brought into the open.
Because you're using air only, there's no cleaning solution being applied to the surface.
Best for: Professional detailers, mobile detailers, workshops and enthusiasts who already have a suitable air compressor.
Great for:
-
Blowing sand from carpets
-
Loosening dirt from floor mats
-
Blowing crumbs from between seats
-
Seat rails
-
Dashboard seams
-
Air vents
-
Door pockets
-
Tight interior areas
-
Drying door jambs
-
Blowing water from mirrors and exterior trims
-
Engine bay drying
-
Blowing water from wheels and body seams
Easy explanation:
"If you want to blow dirt, sand and dust out of areas your vacuum can't easily reach, choose the Blow Out Gun. It's air only — no cleaning chemical or vacuum attached."
WHY USE THIS INSTEAD OF A NORMAL AIR GUN?
A normal compressed-air gun generally gives you a direct stream of air.
The Cyclone's cone creates a powerful rotating airflow that agitates a larger area.
This is especially useful on carpet and fabric, where sand and dirt can become trapped deep within the fibres.
Think:
Normal air gun → Blow air at the dirt
Cyclone Blow Out Gun → Agitate and disturb the dirt with rotating air
CYCLONE PROFESSIONAL VACUUM CLEANING ADAPTOR – BLOW + VACUUM
The Cyclone Professional Vacuum Cleaning Adaptor takes the compressed-air idea one step further.
This tool connects to both a suitable air compressor AND a wet/dry or shop vacuum.
The compressed air creates the cyclonic action that loosens embedded dirt while your vacuum immediately sucks that loosened dirt away.
This makes it particularly useful for carpets, floor mats, fabric upholstery and other textiles where dirt, sand, pet hair and crumbs become trapped deep within the fibres.
Instead of:
Blow dirt out → Stop → Vacuum dirt up
You can:
Loosen dirt + vacuum it away at the same time.
For professional interior detailers, this can significantly improve workflow.
Best for: Professional detailers, busy interior detailers and enthusiasts wanting to get more performance from their existing vacuum and compressor.
Great for:
-
Carpet
-
Floor mats
-
Fabric upholstery
-
Embedded sand
-
Pet hair
-
Crumbs
-
Dirt trapped within carpet fibres
-
Heavily used family vehicles
-
Tradie vehicles
-
4WD interiors
-
Faster professional interior detailing
Easy explanation:
"This combines your air compressor and vacuum. The compressed air loosens the dirt from the carpet while your vacuum sucks it away at the same time."
IMPORTANT – THIS IS NOT A CARPET EXTRACTOR
The Vacuum Cleaning Adaptor is excellent for dry debris, but don't confuse it with a liquid carpet extractor.
It's not designed to inject cleaning solution deep into fabric and then extract that dirty solution back out.
Think:
Cyclone Vacuum Adaptor → Dry dirt, sand, hair and debris
Carpet Extractor → Wet cleaning and extraction
A professional detailer may actually use both, depending on the condition of the interior.
CYCLONE TURBO PROFESSIONAL LIQUID AIR CLEANING TOOL – DEEP CLEAN WITH CHEMICAL
The Cyclone Turbo Professional Liquid Air Cleaning Tool is for customers who want the cyclonic cleaning action combined with cleaning solution.
The tool has a 1-litre solution tank and releases a fine mist of diluted cleaning solution while the compressed air creates its cyclonic action.
The idea isn't to completely soak the surface.
Instead, the fine mist combines with the rotating air to help release grime from fabric, carpet, plastics, rubber, vinyl and other suitable surfaces.
Once the area has been cleaned, the liquid can be switched off and the tool can then use compressed air only to help remove residual moisture.
Best for: Professional detailers, interior specialists, car yards, workshops and serious enthusiasts.
Great for:
-
Fabric seats
-
Carpet
-
Floor mats
-
Dashboard plastics
-
Door trims
-
Steering wheels
-
Ventilation grilles
-
Vinyl
-
Rubber
-
Hard-to-reach areas
-
Heavily soiled interiors
-
Exterior emblems and seams
-
Wheels
-
Fabric convertible tops
"This is the one to choose when you actually want to clean the surface with chemical. It creates a fine mist of cleaning solution while the compressed air agitates and releases the grime."
IMPORTANT – IT'S NOT A FOAM GUN
The Liquid Air Cleaning Tool isn't designed to cover the surface in thick foam.
It's designed to use a fine mist of cleaning solution combined with cyclonic compressed air.
This means you're using the chemical and compressed air together to help break contamination away from the surface without unnecessarily saturating it.
After cleaning:
Switch the liquid OFF → Continue with AIR ONLY → Wipe with a clean microfibre.
WHICH CYCLONE SHOULD I BUY?
The easiest question is:
"What are you actually trying to remove?"
DUST, SAND & LOOSE DIRT?
→ CYCLONE TURBO BLOW OUT GUN
Use compressed air to blast debris out of carpet, seams and difficult areas before vacuuming.
LOTS OF EMBEDDED DIRT, SAND OR PET HAIR IN CARPET?
→ CYCLONE VACUUM CLEANING ADAPTOR
The air loosens the debris while your vacuum removes it at the same time.
GRIME, STAINS & DIRTY SURFACES THAT NEED CHEMICAL CLEANING?
→ CYCLONE TURBO LIQUID AIR CLEANING TOOL
Combines cleaning solution with cyclonic compressed air to clean the surface.
A GOOD PROFESSIONAL INTERIOR SETUP
For a professional detailer, these tools can actually work together rather than replace each other.
STEP 1 – BLOW OUT
Use the Cyclone Turbo Blow Out Gun to get debris out of:
Seats → Rails → Vents → Crevices → Door pockets → Tight areas.
STEP 2 – VACUUM
Use the Cyclone Vacuum Cleaning Adaptor on carpets and upholstery to loosen and remove embedded:
Sand → Hair → Crumbs → Dirt.
STEP 3 – DEEP CLEAN
Where the surface actually needs chemical cleaning, use the Cyclone Turbo Liquid Air Cleaning Tool with the appropriate diluted interior cleaner.
This gives you:
BLOW → VACUUM → CLEAN
Rather than trying to make one tool do everything.
COMPRESSOR REQUIREMENTS – IMPORTANT BEFORE BUYING
All three of these Cyclone tools require a suitable air compressor.
This is extremely important.
Buying a Cyclone doesn't automatically mean that a small portable compressor will be able to run it properly.
For the Cyclone Turbo Liquid Air Cleaning Tool, the listed operating specification is approximately:
Working pressure → around 90 PSI / 6.2 bar
Air consumption → approximately 80–160 L/min at 6.2 bar
Air connection → 1/4"
Detail Central recommends a minimum 90-litre compressor for proper operation of the Turbo cleaning gun.
The Vacuum Cleaning Adaptor requires at least 60 PSI constant pressure and should not exceed 90 PSI. It also requires a suitable vacuum as well as the compressor.
Before purchasing, check that your compressor can provide the required continuous airflow, not simply reach the required PSI.
SIMPLE WAY TO REMEMBER THE RANGE
BLOW OUT GUN
💨 AIR ONLY
Loosen and blow out dirt.
VACUUM CLEANING ADAPTOR
💨 + VACUUM
Loosen dirt and suck it away.
LIQUID AIR CLEANING TOOL
💨 + CLEANING SOLUTION
Agitate and clean dirty surfaces.
WHO ARE THESE TOOLS BEST FOR?
HOME ENTHUSIAST
If you already own a suitable compressor and mainly want to make interior cleaning easier:
→ BLOW OUT GUN
Simple, useful and great for getting debris out before vacuuming.
MOBILE DETAILER
If compressor capacity and space allow:
→ BLOW OUT GUN for general interior work.
→ VACUUM ADAPTOR if you're regularly dealing with sandy and dirty carpets.
PROFESSIONAL DETAILER
Ideally:
BLOW OUT GUN + VACUUM ADAPTOR + LIQUID AIR CLEANING TOOL
Each handles a different part of the interior detailing process and can help reduce the amount of manual brushing, repeated vacuuming and cleaning required.
HEAVILY SOILED / TRADIE / 4WD INTERIORS
VACUUM ADAPTOR + LIQUID AIR CLEANING TOOL
The Vacuum Adaptor tackles the embedded dry debris, while the Liquid Air Tool tackles the remaining grime that actually needs chemical cleaning.
ONE IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP
These are powerful compressed-air tools.
Be careful around delicate or poorly attached interior materials, particularly vehicle headliners/roof lining.
We don't recommend using the Turbo cleaning gun aggressively on a headliner because there is a risk of weakening or separating the material or adhesive.
Always test your chosen cleaner on an inconspicuous area and follow the chemical manufacturer's dilution and surface instructions.
THE SIMPLEST WAY TO CHOOSE
Ask yourself:
Do I want to BLOW it, VACUUM it or CLEAN it?
BLOW IT → Cyclone Turbo Blow Out Gun
VACUUM IT → Cyclone Professional Vacuum Cleaning Adaptor
CLEAN IT → Cyclone Turbo Liquid Air Cleaning Tool
For a professional setup:
Own all three and use the right tool for each stage of the job.
