SCANGRIP NOVA 6 C+R – LARGE DETAILING BAY / MAXIMUM AREA LIGHT

The NOVA 6 C+R is the most powerful light of these options, producing up to 6000 lumens with a wide 110° beam angle.

It's designed to throw a large amount of even light across a working area, making it excellent for professional detailing studios, wash bays, garages, engine bays and larger work areas.

A major advantage is the C+R Dual System, meaning it can operate cordless from its rechargeable battery or connected to its 5-metre power cable.

It has 6 adjustable output levels from 600–6000 lumens, so you don't have to use maximum brightness all the time.

At maximum output, battery runtime is approximately 1.5 hours, increasing up to around 15 hours at minimum output.

Best for: Professional detailing studios, larger garages, workshops and customers wanting maximum area lighting.

Good choice for:

  • Lighting an entire side of a vehicle

SCANGRIP NOVA 4 C+R – GENERAL DETAILING / GREAT ALL-ROUNDER

The NOVA 4 C+R is the smaller brother to the NOVA 6 and is probably the easier choice for someone who doesn't need 6000 lumens.

It produces up to 4000 lumens with the same wide 110° beam angle and also uses the C+R Dual System, so it can operate from its battery or the supplied 5-metre power cable.

It has 6 adjustable light levels from 400–4000 lumens.

Battery runtime is approximately 2 hours at maximum output and can reach around 18 hours at minimum output.

It's a great option for home garages, professional detailers and mobile detailers wanting plenty of usable area light without stepping up to the larger NOVA 6.

Best for: Home detailing garages, mobile detailers, professional detailers and general workshop use.

NOVA 6 C+R VS NOVA 4 C+R

This is an easy customer question:

"Do I need the 4 or the 6?"

The main difference is how much area and brightness they need.

NOVA 4 C+R → Up to 4000 lumens

NOVA 6 C+R → Up to 6000 lumens

For a normal home garage or general detailing:

→ NOVA 4 C+R is usually plenty.

For a larger professional studio or someone wanting more light across a larger working area:

→ NOVA 6 C+R makes more sense.

Don't automatically sell the 6 because it has the bigger number.

Sometimes too much concentrated light can actually make inspection harder because of glare and reflections.

That's where adjusting the brightness, or adding a DIFFUSER... becomes important.

SCANGRIP NOVA R – PORTABLE ALL-ROUNDER

The NOVA R is where things become much more portable.

It produces up to 2000 lumens, but instead of primarily being a large stationary work light, it's designed to be compact, rechargeable and easy to move around the vehicle.

It has a flexible handle with strong integrated magnets, so you can position it on suitable metal surfaces and angle the light towards the area you're working on.

It also has 6 adjustable output levels from 200–2000 lumens and a wide 110° beam.

This makes it extremely useful for detailers because you're not always trying to illuminate the entire workshop, sometimes you just need good light exactly where you're working.

SCANGRIP FLASH PEN R – CLOSE INSPECTION / TIGHT AREAS

The FLASH PEN R does a completely different job.

It's a small rechargeable pen-style inspection torch producing 150 lumens normally or up to 300 lumens in Boost mode.

The important feature isn't simply the lumen number — it's the adjustable focus.

You can change the beam angle from approximately 10° to 60°, allowing you to go from a concentrated inspection beam to a wider light.

For detailing, this is perfect when you want to get your eyes right onto a particular area rather than lighting an entire panel.

SCANGRIP DIFFUSER – SOFTEN & SPREAD THE LIGHT

The SCANGRIP Diffuser isn't another light, it's an accessory that changes how the light behaves.

It attaches to compatible SCANGRIP lights and softens and spreads the light, reducing harsh reflections, glare and hard shadows.

This is particularly useful in detailing because automotive paint can be extremely reflective.

Instead of having one harsh bright reflection staring back at you, the diffuser creates a softer and more even working light.

A GOOD PROFESSIONAL DETAILING SETUP

Rather than having one extremely bright light, a professional detailer will generally benefit more from having different lights for different jobs.

A very useful setup would be:

NOVA 6 C+R → Main detailing bay light

NOVA R → Portable light around the vehicle

FLASH PEN R → Close inspection

DIFFUSER → Coating / softer working light

For a home enthusiast or someone starting out:

NOVA 4 C+R → Main work light

Then add:

IMPORTANT STAFF TIP – MORE LUMENS DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN BETTER

Don't sell detailing lights purely on the biggest lumen number.

A 6000-lumen NOVA 6 is fantastic for illuminating a large work area, but that doesn't mean it's the best tool for looking underneath a seat.

Likewise, a 300-lumen FLASH PEN R sounds much less powerful, but its concentrated adjustable beam makes it far more useful when inspecting a small, dark area.

Think about it like detailing equipment:
